Why RI?

A sound choice for life

Whatever stage of life you're at - just starting out, well into retirement or anywhere in between - you can count on us for expert advice and reliable service.

It's what we've been doing since 1979 and over 80,000 Australians have chosen us to help them with their finances.

Most of our new clients are referred to us by existing clients. If we didn't put our clients' interests first this referral business just would not happen.

Quality people, quality advice

RI Advice Group has over 200 professionally qualified and authorised advisers, and they are some of Australia's most experienced, with an average of 17.4 years industry experience.

They are recruited on the strength of their financial and technical knowledge, advice experience, communication skills and cultural fit. To be one of our advisers it's not enough to be good with finance, you also have to be good with people.

Learning and development plays a critical role at RI Advice Group and all advisers are required to undertake continuous professional development. The Group hosts regular training programs on compliance, soft skills, technology and business practice. Our philosophy is one of continually raising the bar and advisers are strongly encouraged to attain the highest Certified Financial Planner accreditation.

Strong research and technical resources

No one adviser could possibly keep up to date with the ever changing product, technical and legislative developments. Our technical team is dedicated to keeping your adviser up to speed with the latest legislative changes to taxation, social security and superannuation and investment rules. They help to interpret legislation so that your adviser can help you to avoid potential negative impacts, and also highlight any opportunities as a result of any rule changes.

The research team also support your adviser by evaluating investments, visiting fund managers and sitting in on investment strategy meetings to monitor where any money is being placed. All advisers have direct access to the members of the research team every day and they provide regular investment analysis to help your adviser find quality investments, as well as avoid those that may be inappropriate.

Accessible national network

With practices in more than 100 rural, regional, suburban and city locations, it's highly likely you'll find one near you, wherever you are in Australia. Offices are locally owned, providing a commitment and connection to the local community that's uncommon in large financial organisations.

Our promise

We believe that our expert financial advice, proven strategies and reliable service can genuinely help our clients make the most of life. If we succeed in doing this for our clients, we will also succeed as a business.

What does all this mean for you?

  • You can be sure that we will still be here tomorrow.

In the community

RI - supporting those in need

Camp Quality

Camp Quality is the children's family cancer charity that is committed to bringing hope and happiness to every child living with cancer, their families and communities through ongoing quality recreational, educational, hospital and financial support programs. It puts together fun, educational and optimistic programs to help each child and their family through their cancer journey. Camp Quality is all about fun therapy as 'Laughter is the Best Medicine'.

Since 2009 Camp Quality has been RI Advice Group's strategic charity partner and through our fundraising we have enabled over 54 children living with cancer to attend a Camp Quality camp (it costs $550 to send each child to camp) and experience some well needed fun therapy.

Each year we like to give something back to the community by raising money for a chosen charity. Some of the highlights of our fundraising activity includes:

2011

For the third year in a row RI Advice Group has proudly raised money for Camp Quality at our National Conference and at various golf tournaments through the year.  Over $5,000 was raised at our National Conference this year through donations from advisers and RI staff.

We also took the opportunity to bring along another family from Camp Quality to enjoy our National Conference.  Young Alexis who has suffered from leukaemia had a wonderful time relaxing with her family.

2010

Though a combination of Conference 'fines' and tables at the Camp Quality Chandon Supper Club dinners we raised in excess of $22,000. We also held corporate golf days through out the year and at the NSW golf day raised over $3,000.

We also took the opportunity to take a Camp Quality family along to our National Conference, little Jessye lost her eyes to cancer and had a great time enjoying herself with other children attending the conference.

2009

At the 2009 RI conference, a group activity was held where bikes were built for underprivileged kids by our advisers and staff members. Bikes For Tykes is both a team-building exercise and a charity event, as team members build a bike from scratch as a team, before it is revealed that these bikes are actually being donated by the company to local underprivileged kids.

In conjunction with The Smith Family Adelaide, RI donated some 42 bikes and helmets built by advisers and staff members.

2008

In 2008 RI raised $34,000 for Save the Children - a leading, independent children's rights organisation. The money went towards their Cambodia Rewrite the Future Education program, and was matched by the AusAid Grants program to the ratio of 3:1. The funds will make sure 2,800 extra children go to and stay in school, build classrooms, build toilets, train teachers, provide teaching and learning materials, improve health and safety, provide life skills and remove barriers to completing schooling.

2007

$40,000 was raised for Appin Hall Children's Foundation and a further $4,000 was raised in 2008. Appin Hall is a respite and learning centre for children at risk due to poverty, disability, illness and suffering in Tasmania. The money went towards short-term accommodation for children and young adults in need of respite care across Tasmania and also works with relevant community groups and qualified professionals to develop supplementary educational and recreational programs for the benefit of children with serious illness.

In place of Christmas Hampers RI donated $12,000 to a Tibetan Monastery (Lobsang Tender). The money went towards providing education and healthcare for children in remote areas such as Kham in Eastern Tibet. It also helped rebuild a monastery to make it more accessible to both the monks and the general community.
